This is an original issue of the New York Weekly Tribune, Jan 16, 1858

reporting on the execution of James Donnelly for the murder of Albert Moses

at the Sea View House in Highlands NJ on Aug 1, 1857.

Huge front page story with all the incredible gruesome details and eyewitness accounts.

Examples include assembling the gallows, Donnelly's neck breaking, hearse leaving,

details of the iron weight on the rope, body twitching, a very long speech by Donnelly and his last words.

Also several descriptions of the murder.

I am sure many of these details have been unknown to this day.

This is the original 8 page issue, not just news clippings.

The issue is in VG condition with minor

chippy borders, some discoloration. NO major issues.

Filled with other world and New York news, as well as the interesting old ads.

NOTE: Check out the clipping about the fire that destroyed the Sea View House. Weird coincidence.

Please review some of the images from this newspaper below.

I have photographed parts of the execution article, as well as other news of the day.

Any blurred images would be my fault. The news print is clear.
