This is an original issue of the Boston Herald, Sept 8, 1919.
Babe Ruth hits two homeruns at Oriole Park in an exhibition game in his old hometown.
The game featured the Boston Red Sox versus the Baltimore Dry Docks.
Ruth also delighted the crowd by pitching the last 2 innings.
Great coverage of the game with complete box score.
This is the complete and original 16 page issue with all the national and local news as well.
In addition, the great ads and entertainment listings. Transportation and classifieds too.
There is coverage of a potential Boston Police strike which did take place the next day.
Please take the time to review all of my images below.
The first group of photos presents the Babe Ruth coverage,
and then various items I chose at random.
There is much more in this issue than what I presented here.
The newspaper is in surprisingly fine condition for it's age.
You will notice some uneven borders, very minor rough edges, and some age discoloration.
