Here is an original WWI panoramic featuring the servicemen from the 11th Ward, McKeesport PA.
There are 35 men in the photo, several have been id'd in period ink. Four of the men are in the US Navy
pictured directly above the 11th Ward sign. Most of the other men appear to be in the Army.
Background looks like a school building but not sure.
As you notice, the photo has seen better days, so I decided to repair with tape on the back (ONLY).
It was in two pieces, so I think it is safe to handle now and should survive. Looks much better!
We are assuming this may be the only group photo in existence of the 11th Ward McKeesport men,
so does the condition really matter?
There appears to have been a couple of more fellows on each side which sadly have been trimmed off.
The photo measures 20 x 8 and has a name written on the back "Mary Jane Lickley Kirschner"
who turns out is the brother of "Bryan Lickley" on the front. You will notice the word "Brother" next to his name.
He sadly passed away in 1947 as a result of suicide by hanging (see below).
There is a little more research below which is not included with the sale of the photo.
One important news article we located was the list of draftees from McKeesport, which even includes their addresses.
We have taken a few photos, and also added some close up scans.
May be difficult to read, but there is a McKeesport photo hand stamp on the reverse also.
