Original pinback button from a 1924 KKK rally
at Conneaut Lake Park PA.
This "Charter Day" event took place October 6-7, 1924.
I had never heard of this type of event occurring at the park.
The image on the pin is that of "Sam D. Rich" whose title was "King Kleagle of the Realm of Pennsylvania"
and "Our Sam" was their take on the popular US symbol "Uncle Sam."
One of the articles makes note the event was the first, and steps were being taken to make it
an annual affair. I do not know if this event ever occurred at the park again.
It was also mentioned in the article, this was the largest convention ever taking place in the park.
The Imperial Wizard "Hiram Wesley Evans" did appear and deliver an address.
Please review a few articles concerning the event.
These clippings are NOT included with the sale of the pin, however the buyer is welcome to print them.
The pin measures approx 1-3/4 and is in VG condition.
