This is an original clipping from the NY Times, Aug 16, 1925,
concerning the comeback of pitcher Dickey Kerr of the Chicago White Sox.
Best known for winning two of three games for the White Sox
in the infamous World Series of 1919.
Obviously, he had nothing to do with fixing any games.
So the guy wins 40 games for the Sox in the next two seasons (1920-1921), holds out for more money,
and never plays again until 1925, although he secretly plays exhibition games for semipro
teams and is suspended by Major League Baseball.
He would only play in 11 more major league games and his career was over in 1925.
The clipping is in VG condition and has the date affixed to the reverse.
