From the town of New Port Richey Florida.
This is an original real photo postcard from the boat race during
the first annual Chasco Fiesta 1922.
The card is dated March 4, 1922, and
identifies three of the boats including the winner, by using various symbols.
Also noted is Enchantment Park, and the house and boat club house of town founder George Sims.
The postcard is in VG condition. There is a crease in the top left corner and some light staining in the top right.
Neither issue detracts from the scene.
The original owner of this postcard has not signed his/her name,
but we can assume they attended the event and most likely took this photograph.
I was able to find an article on this huge event from 1922 which includes an image of Mrs George Sims.
Although the article does not mention the boat race there are details of other events.
Here is how I deciphered the message on the back:
Boat race Mar 4 - 22
Good view of Enchantment Park your mother is in that car.
