Pair of original 1882 documents from the Pittsburgh & Western railroad,

concerning work done by the well known masonry contractors, John P. and Robert H. Knox.

Both vouchers dated Oct 20, 1882.  Fairly large job in this period, totaling over $13,000.

One of the vouchers includes an annotation "retaining wall Union Bridge."

This refers to the historic Union Bridge which connected Allegheny, North Side to the Point.

Most likely, both documents are connected to the 1882 Pittsburgh Exposition.

Located were two clippings (see below) from August of 1882 which may support this.

All papers in Vg condition  -- one is starting to separate at fold (careful handling required).

Any research materials used (or presented here) are NOT included with the item listed for sale.
