Original clipping from the New York Times, 1939, concerning the election of 93 year old "Robert M. Round"

as the Commander-in-Chief at the GAR meeting in Pittsburgh.  Great old uniformed image.

A member of the 9th Ohio Cavalry Co B during the Civil War.

We believe the actual spelling is "Rownd" but have found it to be often spelled "Round" (as it is in this clipping).

Mr. Rownd lived to the age of 104 and lived in Ripley NY, passing in 1949.

VG condition - measuring 6.5 x 4.5 -- crease in middle

This original clipping has been laminated for lifetime preservation.

Newspapers of this era eventually turned brittle and fragile.
